As it already known, preparation for Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has started. Baku City Circuit Operating Company organized the meeting of Senior marshals, who is an important and invaluable component of the race. During the meeting several topics such as the final results of the last year, implementation of the trainings for about 1300 marshals, reviewing of the changes to the technical rules of Formula 1 2019 season, the race week plan execution plan were discussed.
The event is attended by 100 senior marshals. We would like to note that, in 2016, the trainings were held by expat senior marshals. Since 2017 trainings are conducted by local senior marshals. Based on the final results of the previous season, the heads made appropriate decisions after discussing the proposals and opinions of Senior marshals. The training and communication system that BCC and BMC created for marshals increases their interest and loyalty to this sport.
We would also like to emphasize that as a result of the successful steps we have taken in this area, the number of those who want to be a marshal increases steadily every year. According to the statistics 1603 people wanted to be a marshal in the last year. This year there were 2445 people who’d registered in the system, which is very pleasing and proud fact for us.
